Street Photography: Morning Market of Kota Belud, Sabah

Tamu Market is one of the unique market in Sabah~
A MUST VISIT spot in Sabah!
P/s: Just like Pasar malam in KL, but this is during Sunday morning.
During the Last Kota Belud field trip, we are assign to have photography session in Kota Belud Tamu.

The tamu was full of people...
Not only locals but tourist too~
There are all sort of things sold here, raging from clothes, shoe to vegetable to household.. 
You name it you get it~
Off course what I concern the most is the FOOD here!
There are many traditional food of Sabah sold here..
Many with weird names and interesting way of eating it~
Really "Open" my eyes when my sabahan coursemate introduce us these unique food.
P/s: It is always better to have a Sabahan friend as your guide to help you see the "unseen"~

Colourful drinks..
I don't usually drink colourful drink...
Colouring.. But once in a while is still acceptable..

Coconut drinks

This is the "MUST EAT" kuih!!! Yummy!!
Not sure what is the name but it is a significant food of Kota Belud..
Actually you can find it almost every where in Kota Belud..
Here are some tricks to choose the best kuih to try:
Always choose for those that are freshly cooked rather than those already packed in plastic.
It's always taste better when it is still hot~
There are 2 choices of taste: Gula Melaka and Pandan.
I think Gula Melaka taste better for me.

There are many corns sold here..
Seems like it was a popular food in Kota Belud too~


This is a tapai made of Corn..
It was wrapped using leaves.
It was sticky and taste slightly of corn..

Banbangan is a super sour mango side dish~
It is a traditional dish of sabah too.

This is fermentation initiator used in traditional alcohol fermentation. 

There are many vegetables and fishes sold here.

Fresh Fish

Salted Fish

Fish marinated with a type of herb that is black colour.
The Mak cik said they usually fried these and eat.

Parang with nice craftsmanship - seems like very popular among the locals.



Silver belt is one of the piece in Dusun Ethnic Costume which was made of silver coin.

They even provide massage service for injured patients here too!
